AUSTIN, Texas, April 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Crossroads Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRDS) today announced it is teaming with Santa Clara, California-based DDN Storage (DDN), the world leader in massively scalable, high-performance storage.
Crossroads StrongBox will be offered as an integrated tier within DDN's new MEDIAScaler™ solution providing DDN's customers scale-out file storage with a tape-based LTFS tier within their end-to-end solution. StrongBox is a network-attached storage appliance (NAS) built to simplify data access and provide the most cost-effective, long-term archive storage for unstructured data. The solution offers an LTFS tape solution for storing and protecting long-term and disaster recovery data. Customers benefit from seamless movement of data between the high-performance tiers of MEDIAScaler and the protected archive that features a truly touchless tape environment.
DDN MEDIAScaler™, introduced this week at NAB, offers high-performance, file-based storage for today's large scale rich media workflows, providing concurrent access to content across hundreds of global users while accelerating transcode, reducing hardware footprint, and seamlessly integrating with LTFS-based tape and the cloud.
The joint Crossroads StrongBox/DDN MEDIAScaler solution masters the complexity of data preservation by providing highly available access to information, simple data management, and complete protection.
"Crossroads is proud to support DDN's MEDIAScaler solution with a low-cost content archive," said David Cerf, executive vice president of strategy and business development. "With DDN's expertise in high-performance storage and Crossroads' touchless use of LTFS/LTO, we are able to provide a streamlined solution for media assets with best-of-breed technology."
"With Crossroads StrongBox, DDN customers gain an easy way to leverage LTFS for their every-growing archives," said Molly Rector, Chief Marketing Officer at DDN. "As media and entertainment content grows in both resolution and speed of creation, these businesses need a reliable solution that can scale in performance and capacity, while balancing cost. Through our collaboration with Crossroads, we are bringing performance and cost-efficiency to our mutual customers' storage needs."
